The Burlington Story

Welcome to Burlington Hearth & Brewery where we work daily toward the apex of artisanal flatbread pizza and house-brewed beer.  Join us and celebrate Burlington’s local community ‘third place’, 7 days a week. Our story begins when partners, Paul Sayler and Rob Downey, began dreaming and planning for a pizza and beer restaurant shortly after they met in 1995. They then began the process of renovating what was the old Burlington landmark, Carbur’s, to open what would become American Flatbread Burlington Hearth. Their dream was to open American Flatbread restaurants in local communities and to use this venue to bring back the “third place” and the values that this represents. American Flatbread Burlington Hearth is a unique place that has been established and sustained by our local community. It is a place to “share our food.” Our goal since we opened in 2004, is to provide a superior experience consisting of clean, wholesome food grown by local farmers, and made by artisans that care about the food they create. We take the time to do this because we believe that “Food Remembers,” and “Good Food Helps.”

    Organized Dead

Think you know the Grateful Dead? Think again. Organized Dead is an instrumental brotherhood of musical explorers centered around two entities that have changed the course of American music: The Grateful Dead and the iconic Hammond B3 Organ.
Formed with a desire to put an innovative spin on the music of this legendary band, their music features the classic sound of the Hammond B3 Organ and pays homage to the San Francisco-based psychedelic pioneers, their musical roots, solo offshoots and more. They intentionally approach each performance with a fresh lens focused on improvisational explorations, taking each song to new territory in new directions that incorporate and expand on the many genres that the Dead took their music.

Keller Pils (German-style Pale Lager) 4.8% – This Franconia-style German Pilsner was brewed with German pilsner & Blue Ox malt from Maine, and hopped with Hallertau Mittlefruh & Tettnang.

Nicole (Kolsch) 4.7% – Unfiltered and light bodied. Pale like a pilsner yet fruity like an ale. A perfect choice from aperitif through digestif. A beer everyone can enjoy.

Radagast (Medieval-style Gruit Ale) 5.6% – Gruit was the prominent beer style in Europe prior top the 16th century, when hops became the only herb used in beer. Ours was made with yarrow, mugwort & sweet gale from Hallow Herb Farm in the Intervale, as well as Labrador tes & sweet woodruf.

Riptide (New England IPA) 6.7% – Brewed with a generous amount of Mosaic, Idaho 7, Centennial, & Vic Secret hops. An abundance of tropical flavors, with overlapping notes of ripe citrus fruits & mango.
