Outdoor Patio Seating
Board Meeting Outcome
First, I want to thank the hundreds if not thousands of supporters who either showed up at the Board Meeting; wrote the Board; called the Board; a combination of all the above; signed our petition, or; just offered words of support. You’ll never know just how significant and touching the support was to the whole extended family of American Flatbread in Northern Virginia! Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!
The Board denied our request for outdoor seating on the back patio. They did approve seating that will result in about 6- 8 tables wrapping around our façade on N Fillmore and 11th Street.
Am I disappointed, yes?! Beaten – NO! So what’s next? I have an obligation to my family, extended family and to you our loyal guests to make the best of the situation and play the hand that has been dealt. I am hoping to get the seats out within the next few days. I have to apply to the county for an Outdoor CO (certificate of occupancy) and wait for the appropriate authorities to inspect our seating layout (there are many guidelines as far as sidewalk width, distance from signs, curb, etc.). I, with the assistance of my very talented staff and feedback from you, will try and create the most enticing and comfortable outdoor seating area as possible.
Again, please accept my heartfelt thanks for all of your support!
Warm regards,
Scott, on behalf of the NOVA American Flatbread Family
